I would really appreciate any help I could get. A bit after the free update in September for XV2 I came here to install the updated mod installer and patcher. I watched a few videos to make sure I did it right. But when I click on the 'xv2ins' application in my folder it gives me a message saying "Version 1.150 or greater is required. You have version 1.140." I don't know how to fix this at all. I've tried a few things (uninstalling and reinstalling the game multiple times. Trying to download an update from a MEGA file with the update which ended up telling me I already had the update). Any help would be great, I just want to get back to enjoying this game.

One solution would be buying the game. Threads like yours are here nearly daily, please first see if your question hasn't been answered already.

One solution would be buying the game. Threads like yours are here nearly daily, please first see if your question hasn't been answered already. I did buy the game smart guy. Right from steam. xv2ins still tells me I have version 1.14 even though when I start the game normally it tells me in the menu screen I have version 1.15.01. |

"Trying to download an update from a MEGA file with the update" really makes it seem like you have a pirated version. Anyway, it seems more people are reporting an issue. If nothing helps, bring it up to Eternity. There you'd have more luck with a solution.

The patcher gets the version from the exe, the most common case of this error is through shoddily pirated copies, or broken installations which is also incredibly rare. If you truly do have a legitimate copy bought on Steam, then delete your bin folder and verify the files on Steam.
